General Dentistry

General dentistry focuses on identifying, preventing and treating dental problems before they begin (or get worse). Focussing on improving and optimising oral health in the early stages allows simpler treatments to be used, helping save time and money in the long run. Gum disease arises from bacterial build up called plaque. As it advances, it irritates and inflames the gums, causing then to recede. Exposed tooth roots are more sensitive and can ache.

  • Cracked not Broken

A fracture exposes the tooths sensitive inner layers. When exposed to temperature, air or sweet foods, the nerve inside the tooth can produce sharp pains.

  • Misdirected Molars

When Teeth often wisdom teeth, can’t emerge normally due to space constraints, that grow sideways. This can pressure other teeth and the jawbone, causing discomfort.

  • Filling Gone Awry

Sometimes fillings can break or become loose, the exposed tooth area can be sensitive and prone to further decay. Such vulnerabilities can lead to discomfort, especially when eating and drinking.

  • The Nightly Grind

Frequent grinding or bruxism erodes the tooth surface and strains the jaw muscles, over time, it can lead to sensitivity, and aching pain.
